Vintage Bazzar Recap and Handspun Yarn Summer Sale- Going On Now!
June 26, 2013
This past weekend I was at
The Vintage Bazaar at Pettengill Farm in Salisbury Mass. This is the second year that I vended at this show and apart from the intense heat, I had so much fun! This year I stayed in a little cottage on the beach with my friends at
Madder Root and that made the weekend even better. Being that I am a total shut in most of the time, it was great to talk shop with other fellow makers who have been my friends for years. Actually, Jan of Madder Root, is the fine lady who got me selling on
Etsy in the first place!
Unfortunately, I was having so much fun, that I forgot to take pictures of the cute cottage we stayed in, the beautiful sandy beach, the GORGEOUS flower farm that the event was at, or any of the other hip and trendy vendors at the show. It's really no surprise....I always forget.... Thankfully the ladies of
Madder Root were on the ball, you can check out some of their photos
here.
I came home from my weekend quite a bit lighter, very tired, and full of new ideas for new projects and shows to come.
After unpacking I noticed the
yarn wall is quite full again. Normally, being in show season that would be a good thing, but since I have many pounds of wool heading this way and a bunch of handspun coming up the line, it's actually a bit of a problem. Since there is mostly 1 or 2 skeins left in the remaining dye lots (and larger lots do best at shows), I thought it was a good time for my semi-annual Summer Sale!
So, from now until next Wednesday, July 3rd (originally the sale ended Saturday, but since I was slow to blog about it I thought I would extend the sale) all
handspun yarn has been marked down 30%. Plus, all the prices have been adjusted so there is no need to use a coupon code with this one. The nice part about that is if you are a
OnTheRound Facebook Fan then you can still use your free shipping code!
If you have never worked with handspun yarn this is a really great time to give it a try!

June's Color of the Month is here and is inspired by a beloved classic children's story Miss Rumphius written and illustrated by Maine's own Barbara Cooney. The story of Miss Rumphius reminds us all that small acts of love and kindness can create big impact. I especially love this story because it reminds us to always keep pushing to try harder and do better everyday and that our actions matter.

Now that our lives have gotten so needfully small, I hope that this colorway will serve as a reminder to appreciate all the little bits of beauty that are always around us, if we only take the time to notice them. <3
