Spring Cleaning 2018

Spring Cleaning 2018

I have been spring cleaning all week at home and now I am ready to take it to the studio! There are a few colorways that have been around for a long time- like since my etsy days, and I am ready to take a break from dyeing them.

I like to retire colorways for several reasons. First, fewer colorways means more room on the yarn wall. Second, more room on the yarn wall allows me to see new possibilities and come up with fun new colorways!

Discontinuing yarn also means SALE! I always mark down discontinued yarn 20% and leave the listings open so that there is plenty of opportunity to get what you need before it's gone.

I know that discontinuing yarn can stress some of you out. I want to assure you that I have all the recipes for each colorway and discontinuing doesn't mean gone forever. We've seen several discontinued colorways resurface this year so there is no reason to fret.

Also, a few of the colorways I am discontinuing are going to be getting a facelift sometimes next week so that's something to look forward to. For example, Sweetheart and Purple Rain will be available as they are on the other bases, without the solid stripe.

"This pattern expresses how our journey (in life and knitting) can shift and change. Pathways open to us, then they may twist and turn. At times there are stones and even steep curves, but somehow there is always a way forward." - Marceline Smith
