I am pleased to announce March’s Color of the Month Wayward! The last two months offerings have been light and speckles so this month I wanted to offer something deep and dark.  Purple has been an ongoing theme with the last two colorways, so it seemed like a fitting choice to continue in that direction. I took some inspiration from the Simple Sock update and pulled a few semi solids that I dyed from the OOAK offerings and layered them together using champagne, purple, violet, and taupe dyed to create this months moody beauty.  I finished the colorway with speckles in silver gray, orchid, and aqualon blue for some fun pops throughout.

Purples always give me witchy vibes so the name for this colorway came from the three witches in Shakespear’s Macbeth, the Wayward Sisters.

This colorway pairs naturally with the past two Color of the Month offerings Ophelia, and Inspired. It also works well with Shadow, Harvest, Beauchamp, Gratitude, Bayberry, Oxidize, Robin's Egg, Pickle, or Pine Cone.

Wayward is available on Spontaneous Sock Yarn in Fingering and DK weight, Plush Single, and also I dyed a limited batch on Plush Silk, same base that I used to dye Silver Lining Tweed on at the end of last year. Wayward would look amazing paired with that if you have some in your stash!

Plush Silk DK is a limited edition base featuring extra fine 19.5 micron superwash Merino wool blended with mulberry silk (75/25).  This yarn base is incredibly soft and has a beautiful silky sheen with a dense drape. Plush is the perfect yarn for a colorful shawl, light weight hat, or even a special sweater that would be great to wear in all seasons.

This yarn is excellent for baby knits and garments worn next to the skin. This base is also recommended to people who have sensitive skin.

Hand dyed 19.5 micron Superwash Merino Wool & Mulberry Silk (75/25)

3.5 oz/ 246 yards

DK Weight
Recommended Needle Size: 3-5

This yarn is certified cruelty free.

Superwash yarn is machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, lay flat to dry. I've had a pair sneak into the dryer before and that won't ruin it, but whatever you make will last much longer if you air dry.

This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun!

I do my very best to accurately photograph my yarns but please note that not all monitors are the same. My yarn is made in my smoke-free, pet free studio in Rockland Maine.
