November’s Color of the Month

November’s Color of the Month

It took me a minute but I am so excited to finally announce that November’s COTM is finally here! Introducing Strega Nona!

Strega Nona is a complex yet soft, kettle dyed colorway. This limited edition yarn offering is dyed by pouring over very carefully light dye mixtures of aqua with a pinch of silver gray making a foggy blue, champagne with pinches of violet and orchid making an earthy very soft plum, and a mixture of gold, bronze, and chartreuse that makes a shiny gold color. Both sides of the yarn are given the same dye treatment and the back side is finished with speckled in bronze and paprika for a touch of contrast.

I actually started working on this colorway back in August if you can believe it! Every attempt I made was just too much color! Finally at the end of October I had an epiphany to mix the amount of dye I would normally use on one dye batch, and pour it into squirt bottles to apply over multiple batches of yarn and by golly that finally gave me the results I was looking for!

November’s limited edition colorway was of course inspired by the popular children’s book, Strega Nona. The goal for this colorway was to be warm, cozy, and whimsical, a perfect transitional colorway as we go from fall into the cold winter months.

If you are looking to pair Straga Nona with another colorway from the featured collection, I would recommend Paprika, Forage, Gourd, Seafoam, Peony, Fog, Lichen, Rapunzel, or Persephone.

I also have a new gold colorway coming out this weekend called Golden Flax. I’m hoping to get this listed on the website tomorrow- I just ran out of light tonight! I think this will look lovely with November’s Colorway!

I downloaded an new pattern for my skeins of Strega Nona, Endless Chances Cowl by SweaterFreak but I’m not going to lie, I am very tempted to instead make aShelli Candana instead and really lean into the Strega Nona theme! Who knows, maybe I’ll just do both!

Strega Nona will be available throughout the month of November on Nimble Sock, Plush Single, and Plush DK.

Oh also, I’ve dyed up more of October’s COTM I Am An Autumn, because I sold out at New England Fiber Festival and I know some of you wanted to scoop some up! I’ll leave inventory open through the weekend and then I’ll set it to whatever is left until it’s gone!

Happy Making!
